I just had this job done on my MY99 SW Linear, same engine, the 2.3lpt.
Even in a cold garage, there is no way that the metal will shrink an inch over the length of the pipe, since the coefficient of thermal expansion is so small.
Sorry I can't check the part number for you, I went to an indy who doesn't list the part numbers.
Check the positions of the rubber hangers, and make sure they are all correctly in place. It would be easier to bring the rear section forward than to move the front part, which is connected to the turbocharger.
