Sorry for late reply, just detected this 9-5 forum, hope it's not too late for an answer.
I thought over buying the 9-5 for several months now and have taken a look at almost all types of the car (Linear, Arc, Vector, Aero).
I now will receive my 3.0 TID within a month.
I have driven the car twice, a full day without the sports tuned chassis (same as the Aero), and one hour equipped with.
I then quickly chose the Vector with sports tuned chassis (and the 17", which is standard here in Austria), because of similar comfort and far better suspension response.
The 3.0 TID is a very good choice for me. The characteristics are really fine (noise, sound, power). It's the third Diesel now I have owned (a Rover 620 SDI and a VW Passat 1.9 TDI before) and by far the best one.
The additional price on the 3.0 over the 2.2 TID is not that much (a motor heating device is already included with the 3.0).
The taxes here in Austria are also bit higher, as is the fuel consumption, but this is worth the extra performance, better revving and smoothness.
There is still the tuning option from Hirsch to lift the power to 211 HP and torque to 420 Nm. I'll give it a try at the dealer.
Best regards,
Christof
