Yep, fooled the Ontario licence bureau, too, who called it GRY, as in GREY. Check the paint code on the plate under the hood or on the door.
The permanent roof rails wouldn't really increase drag, since they lie along the longitudinal axis, and present a minimal profile to the air. The roof rack, cross bars mounted along the top of the doors, do though.
I don't notice an MPG drop though, because I drive around town more than 80% of the time. I have both the long box and short box Thule styles, so my cars are fraternal twins (and I have five-year-old twin boys too).
I forgot to say that I have the roll up net that hooks into the ceiling and fits on the back of the rear seats (bayonet fitting) on the MY99 wagon. It is fine both when the seats are up, to be able to leave coats and soft stuff on the hard folding cargo cover. When the seats are moved forward, take out the bottom cushions to get much more room. That's what the Thule is for! The rear seater connection unplug easily and the red locking pins come off with a click, and voilà!
We fit two twin mattresses in there, no problem. Probably could have put in three high. Bonus - even the mattress sales guy was surprised.
Every holiday, fully loaded, my wagons just cruise down the highway.
