Alignment Question and Tire Epilogue

OK- I finally replaced the tires on my 9-5- I'll let you know what I replaced them with and my thoughts, but first I have a question:
1. I had an alignment done- However, my steering wheel is still several degrees off center when driving in a straight line. Is this appropriate?
2. Tire Replacement: I ended up replacing the Michelin Energy MXV4s with Michelin Energy MXV4 Plusses. I actually like them- they are quieter, handle well, and have better sipes for snow traction.
Either way, the Saab tech who worked on my car told me that 9-5s eat their tires- it has become kind of a "dirty little secret."
BTW- They gave me a 9-5 Aero Wagon to drive as a loaner. Within ten minutes I called the dealership and asked them to tell me what they'd give me in trade for my base 9-5! The car was MAGNIFICENT!! It made my 9-5 feel like a BUICK!!
Anyways, they offered me way too little for my 9-5, so that dream is now deferred.
Any help on the alignment question is appreciated!
Thanks,
Brian
