this from a very satisfied V1 owner over the past 4 years. Yes, metallic tint will block laser effectively. However, I don't have metallic tint on my FRONT windshield (illegal anyway), which is the laser threat axis. Personally, I've been happily speeding away with 32% Lumar metallic based tint on my car and the V1 has saved my butt many times during that period! :o) YMMV!!!!! (insert legal disclaimer here)
