OnStar problem/mild rant

Anybody have this problem with their OnStar service lately?
For laughs and giggles I decided to finally try the freebie personal calling minutes thing out that I've had since buying my Aero last fall. I figure it works since somebody called my phone a week or two ago as a WRONG NUMBER... No work-ee. I get the message from the wireless provider that my phone's not activated. WTH?
I then try to use OnStar directly... same answer. My phone's not activated. So I reach the wireless provider for my OnStar, Verizon Wireless (who I have *really, really* good service from for my normal wireless service). Verizon tells me that they can't do a thing to activate it and to call OnStar. Nifty.
By this point I got home and picked up the landline phone to reach the folks there. I'm so lucky--I got the OnStar operator for whom English is *very* likely a second language--the guy can't even pronounce "Saab" correctly (I'm not sure what this individual's first language is... Swahili? Pashtun?), who tells me that it's apparently a software glitch on OnStar's end and that they'll pass my inquiry on to the technical team. They'll get back to me in say, 24-48 hours. Stellar customer service. Sheesh.
Sure, technology's a good thing most days, but when things aren't quite right, what a pain in the rear. There, I feel better now.
