John: I have had the Gislaved 205/55/16 tires on my 9-5 for three complete winters now, and estimate that they will still last well into next winter,if not the entire season.Would have to check my receipts to see exzctly how many winter miles they have, but my best guestimate right now is 30-35k miles.I am admittedly a very easy driver. The original Michelins that came with the car are still on,but now are in need of replacement, and the car has 85K miles,so they have gone roughly 50-55K miles.
I am finally getting my new Aero next week, and was planning on going with 17 inch winter tires per Gary G's suggestion, since most of the time the road is dry anyway. Are you running 16 or 17 inch winter tires?
I personally tend to believe that other than having a tire compound that is excessively soft, most wear is a function of how hard you drive.I'm sure I will have to adapt a little to the Aero, but when I had my 9000 Aero,I got almost 50 K out of the Michelin Pilot tires before switching to a Toyo Proxes for the next set.
