Aero auto and torque oversteer

I've read where the auto (or at least the new 5-speed auto) helps with the torque oversteer that the Aero is subject to exhibit (as would ANY 250hp front-wheel drive).
How?
Does the system sense the torque oversteer and reduce power?
I assume that it cannot direct power to both wheels simultaneously, thus alter power between wheels. I'm not sure if inner or outer front wheel being powered would change amount of torque oversteer. I want to assume that power to the outside wheel would create more torque oversteer than power to inner?
I've assumed that my next car purchase would be a manual transmission, but after reading the praise this board gives the new 5-sp auto, and taking an auto Aero for a test drive, not sure anymore. My dealer has nothing but auto's on the lot, not sure when he might get stick for me to try. I know that the auto vs. manual gets rehashed here every so often (looked through archives), thought that I'd kick it up again.
thanks
