2001 lpt 85000 miles
Had all pads rotors changed last year. Brakes pedal felt soft. Had to push all the way down to come to a stop coming out of the driveway and then a rolling stop. Gets better as I continue to drive it. Some improvement after changing to OEM pads instead of aftermarket. Took it to an Indy for 2nd opinion could not find anything wrong with it. Can't get it to stop on a dime or skid even when going at relatively slow speeds ~30mph no matter how hard or quickly I apply the brakes. Seems to stop ok when I need to slow down quickly on the highway.
Took back to Indy had them just rebleed the brakes anyway - no difference. I re-posted a few months ago some of you advised hard near stops from high speeds to re bed brakes/rotors and remove possible glaze - no difference.
I do notice that in the morning if I turn the engine on and leave it idling for a few minutes that the brakes are better backing out of the driveway. If I don't do this I have a slow rolling stop even at very low speeds. The brake problem is always worst on the first few minutes of the first drive of the day. Pumping the brakes at start up does not seem to improve it but increasing the amount of time the engine has been running seems to help.
I'm guessing it is the master cylinder and tempted to have my Indy just replace it ($50 rebuilt master cylinder + $200 labour).
Any thoughts?
Thanx
