Bought a '01 9-5 Aero in the spring to replace my '92 9000 which needed a turbo amoung other minor things(Still have it though! LOL). Anyhow, after I got the car home, I discovered they swaped parts and had the wrong turbo on it and it was going bad, so I put a new Mitsu Turbo on it and its one heck of a machine. Love the car except for one annoying issue. Its hard to get in reverse, but my problem really isn't that to be honest, my problem is why do I have to park it in reverse to get the key out? Is their anything I can modify on the shift linkage to override this so I can park it in first and pull the key? I don't want to tear out the console to find out I can't do it. 90% the time I have a hard time getting reverse when I park to shut it off and pull the key. Me and my wife have operated stick vehicles all our lives and putting it in reverse is annoying when we are used to putting it in first. Thanks.
