How to change air filter on an '07? Posted by Saabpilot [Email] (#134) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabpilot) on Mon, 21 Mar 2011 19:11:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This is my 3rd 9-5 Aero. I still own an '03 Aero wagon in addition to the '07. I do all of my own work except when something exceeds my skill level or the tools that I own. I've always changed my own oil and air filters (using OEM or Mann).
But on the '07 Aero Sedan Anniversary Edition, I absolutely cannot access one of the screws holding the air filter in place from underneath the car. I'm already aware of the extreme idiocy in the design of this model year requiring the front bumper to be removed to change the Xenon bulbs. [I'm sorry; I love Saab and this is the 13th I've owned but this is simply ridiculous.]
But say it ain't so...do I need to remove the bumper to remove my air filter??? I can't see any other way I can get to that last screw. It's not easy like on the '03's I've owned.
