I just did this job on my '07 9-5 Aero Sportcombi, and opted to go for the Bilsteins (B6 I believe...also known as the "HDs"). Being that the OEMs lasted only 60K and both sides were completely shot, i thought i'd go for some top-o'-the-line shocks in an attempt to not have to do this regularly. I also considered the Monroes, mainly because of the reviews on here and the fact that they were boat loads cheaper, but reading the reviews on various sites pushed me over the edge. Of course, i'm sure Monroe sells 20x what Bilstein sells in N. America, so more people to write negative reviews on them, so you have to take that for what you will.
I also put on Jeff's spacers (look up jjjperformance for more info) as I had the sagging rear suspension like many of the other folks on here.
After about 3000 mi, everything's looking good - ride is great, and the rear end isn't sagging any more. However, if you plan on doing the job yourself, get an impact wrench for the bottom nut(air if you've got a good 26 gal+ compressor, or electric if you don't.) I wound up picking the electric one from Harbor Freight earlier this year, and while I don't think it'll win any awards, it definitely gets the job done where I couldn't (even with heat and a 3 ft. breaker bar), and you can't beat the price.
