There were some posts recently regarding the Xenon headlamp equipped 9-5's not having the centre lamps enabled on the US spec vehicles?

I can confirm that the UK spec vehicles DO use the centre lamps when the shutter in the Xenons operates to reveal the high-beam pattern.

If its any consolation - there is almost almost a semi safety issue with this - normally when driving at night you are able to see the lights of an oncoming vehicle about to round a curve in front of you - a revert to low beam to avoid dazzling the driver.

The UK configuration with those mega-xenon lamps is so bright - you can't actually see the lights of the other vehicle until its too late - Result? 1 temporarily blinded driver - lets hope they stay their side of the highway!
