This is one of the symptoms of a bad heater by pass valve. Do a search here lots of information.
This is a valve in the center of the firewall buried in there behind stuff that drips onto the exhaust system when it leaks so you will not see a puddle on the ground.
It is electric and vacuum operated and in O ring in the shaft starts leaking. They are known to go at 40 to 90 k
will cause this symptom
