From 2006-on the standard tire in the USA was 235-45-17, and the 17" rim was bumped up from 7" wide to 7 1/2. That would be the extent of compatibility issues - newer wheels will be a little wider, but still acceptable for the OE 225-45-17 size of the earlier models. (In fact, some 225-45-17s use 7 1/2 as the "measuring rim" width, i.e., that rim width which gives a 225 mm wide tire cross section.)
The only thing that happened in 2004 is the larger size brakes were universally used on sedans, requiring minimum 16" wheel diameter. I'm not sure what brakes were used on the LPT Wagon of 2004-2005.
