Good question. I don't know if my scientific curiosity outweighs my loathing of of roadside failure. It would be nice to know if the signature of this failing pump indicates a week to failure, a year to failure, or what.
Interestingly, 2 other Saabs in the family (a 9000 Aero at ~138k and different 9-5 Aero at 143k) had SFPDS (Sudden Fuel Pump Death Syndrome) in my driveway in the past month.
I already have the new pump insert and submersible fuel line on the shelf ready to go. I'm not sure if I will do it right away or wait and observe the failure.
FYI I got the pump at Advance Auto, part number 69424. It comes in a Bosch box, but its stamped Walbro. listed at $91 but I got 15% off of that with an online code. I found submersible fuel line at Carquest. ~$30 for enough to do 2 pumps.
