You dont have to take anything else off.
You can reach in with a long screw driver and push down to release the clip, then pull it straight out.
I think you have to push down and pull at the same time.
Be careful not to brake the clip.
I broke one clip a few years ago.
Thought it would stay in place without it, but it came out when I was on the interstate, wind milling around on the wiring lead.
Had to drill a hole in the assembly on the back side and zip tie it to the frame so it would stay in.
