+++ SWEDEDCAR's advice. He knows what he is talking about.
you need to CHANGE that fluid to start with. DO NOT have Jiffy Lube flush it. Get a case of Type IV fluid and drain 4 quarts and replace. run a few days to a week, then do it again and repeat until you have done this 3 times and used up the 12 quarts. You now have fresh fluid.
Type IV is important and Beck Arnley now makes it as well a s others....lots of posts here on flushing and replacing the trans fluid.
I have done this recently with my wife's 03 Aero and my son's 04 Aero. I used a vacuum drainer from Griots Garage to make it fast and easy through the dipstick tube. You just put the nylon hose in and dipstick tube.....pump up some vacuum and pump out 4 quarts. then use a thin funnel and put it back in.
You can also drain it with the drain plug. the WIS says to disconnect the trans cooler output line and run the engine to pump out the fluid.
