The sludge issue was pretty much resolved with the 2004 model year when the PCV system received its final change. The engines still require oil changes around 5K miles or so with synthetic oil even after the PCV changes.
I bought an '08 Aero Sedan last February with 33K miles and it now has just over 61K miles. No complaints.
I wish the radio still had weather band but the MP3 jack has allowed me to install an HD-FM receiver for Jazz listening.
The 2006 and later cars develop 260HP, a HUGE increase from the 170HP I had in my 2000.
The 5-speed auto box is sensitive to ATF condition. Old fluid seems to cause shift flairs and other shift point irregularities, Fresh 3309 cures it all. I recommend changing the ATF following your purchase unless the previous owned did so recently
Verify the service history and that everything works.
Headlights are tough to change with the Dame Edna front end, and the battery may be toast if it is original, but a burned out headlamp or old battery are not deal busters.
I hope it works out for you.
