found leak Posted by saabsince 93b [Email] (#972) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabsince 93b) on Sat, 8 Jun 2013 15:26:40 In Reply to: Re: MAP sensor, MC [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 7 Jun 2013 08:53:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I think I found the reason for the cell. Before replacing the sensor I did a complete check of the vacuum system. Actually I replaced all the rubber hoses with silicone. None really broken, but there were really dry and weathered.
Then I found the white by-pass check valve in the PCV6 system broken off. Luckily I had a spare. No CEL yet....will put some more miles on it. but this would be a decent vacuum leak.
Thanks for all the hints.......I have been wanting to put in the silicone hoses and this was a good excuse.
Only problem I ran into was really rough running when I restarted like a monster vacuum leak. It was the hose for the brake booster. I guess I pulled it out when I was messing with vacuum lines. It was easy to find because it was so noisy and right there on top!
