I never knew what this was called always had 9-3s or c900 s and they had the toothbrush treatment there for the e brake, all of my prior cars were manuals. The toothbrush panels were ugly but lasted forever.
See wifes S80 has same thing...
WIS instructions are very scant on this topic, like remove and replace it.
