I have 2 9-5's. the 1999 car has Bosch starter and cranks much better than the 2004 linear sw. The parts listings say 99-2001 for the Bosch and and 2002-09 has a different number. I was wondering if they physically interchanged in any way. Do they bolt up the same, do they have the same number of teeth on the ring gears. Seems like the older Bosch starter is stronger. I have several of them used , but no 2002 up unit to compare. I figure someone has looked into this at some point? Batteries in both cars are the same make and size and replaced within months of each other. I have done a cursory inspection of battery cables.
