I think there may still be a problem with the kit as listed. The tie rod ends do not match what is on the car, the ones that are listed in the kit are much longer.
http://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/40554/Steering-Tie-Rod-End-61340140/ This is the tie rod end that is listed separately for my car. The ones listed for the kit show incompatible for '99 when checking the link - they are the ones I was originally sent but didn't fit. I can't figure what other change would be necessary to use the new-style tie rod ends - inner rod? knuckle?
Eeuroparts is drilling some old style balljoints for me to fit the bolts and holes on the arm. It sounds like that is what they are doing for other new 99-01 kits.
If I end up with old-style balljoints and old-style tie rod ends, I am not sure this kit is a worthwhile upgrade for a '99. I didn't need a new arm (unless it is required for reasons) I got the kit in order to get er done without pressing old bushings, etc. But it sort of feels like I got two new upgraded rear arm bushings for $350. (and some other parts that I didn't need) for a month long project. I'll have to wait till I look closer and get it all back together to know for sure.
I think a true upgrade would require knuckles on each side ($500) and whatever change is necessary to accommodate the longer tie rod ends
