TB - Trouble Starting Correlation? Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Mon, 28 Sep 2015 10:23:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had a P1260 and P0101 code with the TB in limp home mode. I had previously cleaned the TB (about a month and 2000 miles or so prior) but the CEL was triggered while rapidly accelerating on a highway to pass a truck...
Anyway, I just cleaned the TB again, and cleaned the cable - neither time was the TB particularly dirty, but I did remove a thin film of grime both times. Reset the TB spring, cleared the codes and no CEL so far in a couple drives...
However, we were finding the car intermittently more difficult to start from cold in the couple weeks we were driving it with the CEL (busy - no time to repair immediately). Recently it has been sometimes very difficult to start if it sat over night, but just fine otherwise.
The car has a new DIC, plugs, battery.
Just wondering if the TB being in limp home mode could make the car tougher/problematic to start? Seems unlikely to me... but I thought I'd ask before I start testing the fuel pump (of unknown age - used car)... (spark, air, fuel)
thanks!
