First of all, I'm glad that you are ok. It could be a good option to buy a second hand 9-5.

In a side impact the saab 9-5 and the 9-3 are one of the safest car in the world and seen the pics of the crash, i'm sure the injuries of the passenger if he/she were there in the crash, was minimal. Look at this link.. is a similar association as the NTHSA or IIHS for Europe, look at the results of the side impact of the 9-5. Saab decided to do a second test in the 1998, to test the new airbags, that cover the torax and head and also a part of the legs. The results for the 9-5 and 9-3 are the best. If you look at the fhome page of euroncap, http://www.euroncap.com you will see a pic of the pole test of the 9-5, this test is a side impact that simualate a side crash with a tree or a pillar, it's more several than a side impact from a car, because the door/b-pilar...the crash zone it's more little than the surface of a car and the structure it has harder work to deflect the force of the impact. In your case the car that impact in your car has more weight and a high speed. You has a good luck to recive the crash and nobody was in the passenger seat, i'm sure the passenger won't recive sever injuries, but better don't know it. You are alive and without any injury, isn't it??this is the important thing, don't worry about the car, you must continue your live, if you can buy another saab, would be better, now your know is a insurance, but don't worry, could be in the future. Good luck

Bye
