I use the low price ones I bought at Harbor Freight. I have replaced struts all around in my '01. In addition I have removed the springs from my '99 parts car (50k miles) in case I need to increase spring height in the 165k '01. I have also used them on other cars over the years, Taurus, Protege and Suzuki Aerio.
Be sure to use the safety links that come with whatever spring compressor you use. A compressed spring packs an enormous amount of energy and additional safety is worth the five minutes to install, assuming you leave the springs compressed while moving from old strut to new. Another safety practice: keep body parts (your body) out of the axial line of the spring.
Have fun! And enjoy the resulting ride.
