My 'worst' was more emotion than total time Posted by Mark in Marine [Email] (#1837) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mark in Marine) on Sun, 5 Nov 2017 21:07:30 In Reply to: The one I did today, S-Works, Sun, 5 Nov 2017 19:20:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It had to be replacing the shift cable for the Auto Transmission in the '99 I still have. I could not get the grommet to seat properly into the firewall.
My dislike was in three parts: Working in winter in my unheated detached garage, not being able to see the shift cable grommet I was trying to seat into the firewall, and knowing that if I had only been more careful while replacing the ignition switch I would not have broken the outer sheath of the shift cable that anchors it to the shifter.
I finally seated the sealing grommet in the firewall using a 30" length of partly flattened PVC conduit slipped over the inside half of the cable pushing on the grommet.
That said, I have not done an AC evaporator or heater core replacement . . .
