... maybe, but I doubt it.. a heater core is a pretty simple device.. in terms of being a heat exchanger.. I don't think there is any pressure involved.. its just free flowing coolant..
Once the bypass control valve is out of the equation.. I doubt it matters much.. Having said that, I'd still keep the upper/lower hoses true to their orignal config.. no sense tempting fate!
I wonder if reversing them would cause some of the crud in the core to backflush out into the system? in which case.. another reason to stay true to the original config.
