I have tried everything to clean my inside windshield , but it seems to be getting worse with a greasy layer of something . Non smoker , both myself and the car . High mileage on both , the car has 300,000 miles and the driver about 3 or 4 million or more .The windshield is a year old with about 20,000 miles . The cabin filter is changed every 6 months , but I am starting to suspect that some greasy sludge is down there in the heater box and is cooking and off gassing stuff that ends up on the glass .
Maybe some A/C oil weeping from the cooling evaporator ? That's what I suspect , although the A/C system still functions .
Perhaps the heater core is burning off the bits of that foam that is used with the filter .
I have tried white vinegar , simple green , safelite's own spray . Everything except leaving the windows down at an automatic car wash .
Now I am looking for the source . Should I go there ? Tips , Suggestions ? Thanks !
