You can reduce an upper timing cover leak by up to 95% by cleaning the joint area of the cover to block point under the chain tensioner religiously with degreasor and then alcohol and then painting on a thick layer of jb weld. The upper engine mount has to be removed to allow better access while supporting the engine appropriately below. See old posts on this lazy, shade tree, cheapskate way in the archives. This method seems to be a lasting repair on our now older 9-5's if my own experience is any indication. I don't typically address seeping issues unless drops end up on the driveway since Saab I4's tend to be quite porous under pressure. Siwyjohns post above is a wonderful summary of common problem areas.
