+1 on checking the voltage drop across cables. Corrosion in the positive cable especially can impede the ability of the cable to carry sufficient amperage between the alternator, battery and starter and power the electronics at the same time. That can cause long cranks before starting (or non-start) as well as not allow the battery to sufficiently refresh from the alternator.
