Like many of the others, I bought a used 2008 9-5 Sportcombi in great condition here on Saabnet about 7 years ago with 70k miles and have put another 80k on it since then. I repair/replace things as needed and get my local indy mechanic to fix the things that I cannot. My 2000 9-3 was feeling really tired after 14 years, but new front struts and engine mounts and it handled like new. It depends on the individual Saab, but like others said, if your car is well cared for, the engine and transmission can last a long time and the cost of replacing other components when they wear out can keep it running for many years....if you really can't find something else you like. I plan to keep my 9-5 going for another 100k unless something really serious crops up.
