Exhaust smell in cabin- v6 Posted by fdw201 [Email] (#2066) [Profile/Gallery] (more from fdw201) on Tue, 30 Nov 2021 16:31:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've got a consistent exhaust smell in the cabin. I can remedy it by using recirculating air.
The car is a 2003 v6, and so I think I've narrowed it down to a leaky valve or gasket in the SAI system. I've eliminated the possibility of muffler/exhaust leaks, pcv system is totally refurbished, and the usual "oil" fumes from the oil pressure sensor and valve covers are not the problem. Nothing seems or sounds amiss with my head over a running engine.
2 questions! Is there anything I'm missing? And how would I go about diagnosing the gaskets and/or valves in the SAI system? I see lots of gaskets in the parts diagram, are there any likely culprits? SAI system seems to be working fine, maybe just a slight hesitation/stumble when the motor is warming up.
Thanks!
