I've been ignoring the suspension issues on our 2002 9-5 Arc. Main reason is in July of 2020. someone decided to break my Back for me. So with burst fracture of L2, I only recovered somewhat. Spent 4 weeks in bed and 12 weeks of missed work. Even changing oil on our vehicles is very painful. So we took the SAAB to a shop and they told us the car was unsafe to drive and quoted lots of money (2K+) to fix it. So, last weekend, I decided to jack up the car and remove the front wheels to take a look. So the inner and outer tie-rods seemed tight, lower control arms seemed OK. But the MOOG stabilizer link arms were shot that I installed 12 years ago. The lower ball joint on each were very loose. I bought some replacements that look exactly like the MOOG brand, including zerk fittings. The brand on the bag says "OEM Parts". Apparently there is a company called that? I installed them and took the car for a ride and it's perfectly quiet. Steering seems tight. So last Sunday, we drove the car 227 miles and the front suspension didn't fall apart. Enjoyed the ride. Imagine that if we knew nothing about cars and shelled out the dough to have the shop repair it. These places need to be shut down. I bet they rip-off People every day. Anyway, the SAAB lives on.
