Interesting, when I changed my filter this summer, with a Mann, I had fewer ‘cuss words’ than in the past years. I even got the new foam in first shot!
That made a big difference in A/C performance. It the past it was 50/50 if I could get the foam seal in without shredding it, with the prior change being unsuccessful. This time it worked a charm, and the A/C was colder immediately. I theorize that without the seal, some warm/humid air can bypass passing over the condenser unit, while the seal ensures nearly all ambient air passes across it.
Only wish I had done the work earlier in the summer than I did!
