Chasing an oil leak - things to check with the exhaust removed? Posted by mb [Email] (#2713) [Profile/Gallery] (more from mb) on Fri, 30 Dec 2022 17:47:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have an oil leak in my 2005 Saab 9-5 Aero manual with ~110k miles. I suspect the main source is the oil pump seals, which I plan to replace (oil mainly on the passenger side subframe, etc.). I also plan to replace the timing chain tensioner seals and seals in the oil pan.
What else should I check while I have my exhaust removed in addition to seals in the oil pan? It looks like there's some leaking from the bottom of the PCV trap, which I may try to replace (no luck with exhaust in, will see if it's possible while out).
