For the lube/cleaner to travel down and into the enclosed ignition switch assembly that is mounted below the tumbler.
Drying out the tumbler and key gates are probably a bigger chance.
It is a weird problem I have never encountered and it is hard to believe that the driver can transfer enough vibration through the tumbler, reverse gear lockout doodad and into the ignition switch.
As for many other suggestions through the board, having a Tech 2 scanner and watch the TWICE alarm system signals to starter relay together with starter solenoid signal from ignition switch could shed some light on it.
