Don't pay $80 or more for the SAAB-branded McGard wheel locks!
The original McGard equivalent is model #27179, and The Tire Rack sells them for $27.95 plus shipping (~$8). 1-888-541-1777.
FWIW, these are the same wheel locks used on a BMW E39 5-series. The funky looking non-McGard wheel locks that BMW sells will probably work on a SAAB too.
I used to be of the mindset that wheel locks were unnecessary, until the wheels and tires of my previous car were stolen. Talk about a bigtime headache! $27.95 is not much to pay for a little piece-of-mind.
Heaven forbid your wheels and tires are stolen: not only will it cost over $1,500 to replace all the wheels and tires, but you also risk damage to your undercarriage, brakes, suspension, etc. Not to mention all the aggravation and grief...
The SAAB alarm system does NOT have a tilt sensor (I tested it), so it will NOT sound, should someone ever jack it up in an attempt to steal the wheels and tires.
One set of wheel locks is simply a deterrent. Without the key, there are ways to remove them, but it would definitely slow down a would-be thief, so they'd reconsider. If you ever have to park in a high-crime area, I'd advise using two sets of wheel locks. In the long run, it'd be a slight inconvenience for you or your mechanic, but I seriously doubt a thief would spend the time dealing with *two* sets of wheel locks.
SAAB rims are probably not a big target for parts thieves, but the tire on the Aero (225/45-17) is certainly a popular size, and it's used on various cars, such as on the current BMW 3-series with sports suspension.
Happy Saabing, and may your wheels and tires stay safe!
