Oddly, though, there was no notification on the SID. I thought it was supposed to say "replace remote battery" when the battery is exhausted?
Oh well.
The original battery was a Panasonic CR-1632 but the SAAB replacement is made by Varta, also CR-1632. SAAB list price is $7.67 (!) but they sold it to me for $4.95. [Free would have been better!]
Betcha it's like $1.99 at Radio Shack!
To open, yes you poke a paperclip or whatever into the hole and then pry off the back cover with a small screwdriver. The service adviser warned me to be careful, cause it might break, then said to let one of the service guys do it... no argument from me, after what I experienced with the cheap center brake light! :-/
