many car owner have paid dearly for that.
The manufaturer/dealer stand point for many decades have been to leave trans fluid and trans oil (manual) alone.
Only during the late 90s have we seen a rise in recommended trans services from the dealer. Volvo is doing the same thing.
If you let it slide until 60K or so, it might be to late. The ATF "grinding paste" could already have done ireversable damage to the transmission.
Todays transmission are not as sturdy as the ones in the 60s and 70s Yankee cars.
