getting it from a dealer, and they tend to run a bit higher. However, chances are he's inspected it and repaired any known problems (assuming it's a reputable dealership). If you have the vin get him, or the nearest Saab dealer to print out warranty repair history. It will tell you if all the known campaigns have been addressed. It will also list the dealer number.
With the dealer number, you can call Saab USA's customer service number ahd have them look up the identity and phone number of the servicing dealer. Call the service dept of that dealer and ask about the car's history. The dealer will have records of not just the warranty claims, but all service performed at their shop.
If you're seeing lots of mamor repairs, or repeated failure of the same component, or system, steer clear.
