Yes, I have them Posted by Joe [Email] (#444) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Joe) on Tue, 27 Mar 2001 07:35:10 In Reply to: 2001 Saab 9-5 Back Up lights, J, Tue, 27 Mar 2001 02:42:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
J,
I have the JC Whitney lights in my Dodge Dakota and I had them in my Subaru Legacy. They are brighter, but you don't necessaraly see any better. The bulbs are made from a standard Quartz Hallogen bulb with a pin base and an addapter. They are quite a bit brighter, but the fillament is further out from the base which is away from the design focal point. So, the bulbs are brighter, but don't focus in the housing well.
Two other points, the brighter lights do get hotter and they caution you against having them on more than 2 minutes. A melted tail light would be expensive! The bulbs come with a lifetime warrenty. Just send the old bulb back with $6.95 "handling fee". What a joke.
IMO, the 9-5 has great backup lights. I have not been tempted to add the brighter lights.
Drive Safe,
Joe
