Yes the new 5 is coming but it has been seriously Bangleized and I don't like the styling at all. Part of the pleasure of owning cars like these is the sense of style they imbue. Any time I walk away from the 9-5 and the E39 BMW I look over my shoulder and admire the lines and proportions. The new Bangle designs, 745i, Z4 and now the E60 5 series just don't do it for me. However fine the dynamics of the vehicle, and I'm sure they are impressive, I just don't want a car that appears ugly to me and whose styling has to be justified as "flame cut" or "the new trend". Of course looks are subjective and my ugly might be your beautiful.
You are right on the price, BMW's are high and I would not be driving one if they were not blowing them out in advance of the Bangle butt model, thanks Chris B.!
BTW, BMW already offers a bluetooth kit (my 5 is prewired for it) and I'm thinking of having it installed. I hear it works very well, with all functions available through the wheel controls.
