Well my Aero runs less fine on California 91 octane. It runs ok, but it ain't what it used to be when I installed the PPC Stage 1 upgrade this spring. In cooler weather (Seattle area) with 92 octane I got the boost gauge well into the red with noticeably better performance. Now I'm just getting to the edge of the red. The performance is better than stock but not by as much as before. And yes, I checked out the plugs and air cleaner and everything else I could think of that was mess with my performance.
Ok, Carolyn, your Aero will run fine on 91 octane, I think you can go as low as 87 and not hurt the engine (check the manual). It just won't have all the performance (or gas mileage) it would have with the higher octane. The ECU (Engine Control Unit ??) adapts the timing, throttle opening, turbo boost, whatever, as required for the gas you are using, down to the minimum given in the Manual.
Brooks,
