Castrol Syntec 0W-30. Make sure it says Made In Germany on the back of the bottle.
Excellent low temp flow (needed esp for turbo bearing protection on startup) but acts a little thicker than a 30W when hot. I ran it in my '00 SEv6 with excellent results.
Prior to the Syntec I use M1 10/30 which is OK where I'm at in the deep south. I ran it to 6500, did a used oil analysis and found the M1 held up reasonably well in that engine. When I switched I noticed less engine noise at cold startup and general smoother running. Mileage remained the same.
Syntec 0W-30 (German made) and M1 0W-40 would be my two top choices for the V6.
If you want some extra Saab OE filters, drain plugs, and copper washers, email me and we can work a deal. I no longer need these items.
