First there was incandescent, then halogen, then xenon and now xeon!?!

The flickering is probably the self-leveling function in action.
You will see it best when coming to a stop with a car in front of you. Just before you come to a stop, the car sees its front end lowered for a fraction of a second and then comes back to level. The flickering (i.e. adjustments) will be seen on the car in front. Also, once stopped, let go the brake (quickly) in jerky motions. You will also see then the 'flickering'. Both sides are doing it (should be!)
