This seems typical. I had about $700++ in parts refunded to me once from Saab customer service even though work done at an independant ( Car was 7 or 8 years old at time!) because car had always been serviced at dealer before this and I had owned many Saabs (had three at the time) and it was a known defect (soft gears in my '91 9000 CD). I also had good luck on my Chevy but it too was always service at the dealer. They take care of good customers (those that spend money there). A DI isn't a big deal. I had to replace mine on the 9000 CD after about 80000 miles. Enjoy the car. I am sure that you will save money in the future by going to a good independant. You will make up the cost in one tuneup.
