Hi
I just did this job in a parking lot in the cold so hopefully you have a garage. Do not try to remove the alternator without removing the alternator braket you'll end up hitting yourself in the head with a hammer to relieve your pain. Your going to need, in case you don't have them, a 6mm hex to remove two of the alternator braket bolts and I believe the last bolt was a regular 13mm. some recommend removing the A/C braket to give more space, what I did was remove the bottom and side hex bolts then remove belts let the alternator lay on the wheel well, you should be able to get at the top bolt at that time. to get the alternator out of the engine compartment was not fun for me but remember where I did the job, I ended up moving the coolant hoses over the alternator as well as the coolent resuviour and the master cylinder. maybe someone else will tell you a better way. If you don't already have one get yourself a bently repair manual you thank yourself for doing that. hope my rambling helps.
Mike
