The actual capacity in your oil pan is 3.85 quarts, but the manuals rounded up. Dad always just dumps in all four and the level is about a quarter of an inch above the "MAX" lettering. Yes, the tech at the dealer in '85 told him it was okay, and we never had consumption problems with that car in 13 years.
I put the oil up to the line only. Mobil 1 isn't cheap, and that leaves me with some left over for top-ups, and I'm a perfectionist.
67k? Wow. I would give anything for my car ('90 900) with half as many miles, 'cause it's great at 141k.
Backflush your coolant every other year, keep it at 50%, and *Make Sure Your Coolant Reservoir Cap Holds Pressure.* (How?) With your engine warm, not hot, unscrew the cap VERY SLOWLY until it hisses, just enough to hear it. If it doesn't hiss, the cap is bad- $20 from Saab. If it hisses, tighten it back up and off you go.
A failed pressure cap will allow hot spots to form in your cylinder head, which will eventually crack it.
