Seth, thanks for your suggestions. I don't go to the dealer - the closest one to my house has a reputation for being scummy. There's a used Saab dealer (only used) around that does my work. I've brought them problems, and they've fixed 'em. It isn't really the price of the parts that gets me. It's the fact that any Saab mechanic charges $45-$65 per hour in labor. Saabs are too complicated and it takes FOREVER to do any job. The other thing is that things are constantly going - of course I have 175K on the car...so things are bound to wear out now. I'm not really complaining, it just amazes me that there are so many people out there who are just like me - blind and in love with a 3,000 lb piece of metal that sucks money out of your wallet faster than a pickpocket in NY. Happy driving
